In 2018, Audi introduced a plug-in hybrid system that combined a downsized 2.0 petrol engine and an electric motor that delivers 245 bhp and a fuel-efficient 53.6 mpg. Since it was nearly as effective as the diesel engine option, it didn't sell well. Instead of bringing it out, Audi brought a more powerful hybrid using a 3.0-litre V6 engine and a 14kWh battery, offering a total output of 443 bhp and a 28-mile pure-electric range.

Audi A8 has many outstanding tech features, but one worth highlighting is its car-to-car (or car-to-x) system, making it possible to communicate with other surrounding cars and objects. It helps keep the driver informed about upcoming issues, such as bad weather or collision.

Coming with Audi's Tiptronic automatic gearbox, you don't have to worry about jerky clutching. And thanks to the Quattro 4-wheel-drive system, the limo can sustain a short off-road stint and maintain stability on slippery surfaces. The A8 also has excellent features that make driving seem almost effortless, such as adaptive cruise control, self-parking and 360-degree cameras.

The Audi A8 has a design that focuses more on the comfort of rear-seat occupants than the driver. The front passenger seat can slide into the dashboard to increase space for the rear passengers, although there is very little room for extra luggage. The limo comes with a well-shaped 510-litre boot, but the capacity cannot expand any more, even by folding down the seats. The model makes up for this downside by providing several storage cubbies placed throughout the cabin.

The Euro NCAP has not yet crash-tested the Audi A8, so there is no official star-rating available. However, it still has plenty of safety systems, including Audi's Pre Sense impact-detection system. Other safety kits available in the A8 include Isofix child-seat mountings, active pedestrian protection, blind-spot monitoring, active suspension and an anti-kerb warning system. With all of these standard safety features, you can be confident that getting behind the wheel of the A8 is undoubtedly one of the safer options.
